The Annual Spring Juried Student Art Show recently transformed the University of the District of Columbia into a vibrant hub of energy and inspiration, uniting students, faculty, and community members for an evening celebrating student creativity and dynamic self-expression.
Presented at Gallery 42 on the Van Ness Campus, this year’s exhibition, “Witness,” showcased a diverse collection by students in UDC’s art program. Paintings, drawings, prints, photography, ceramics, sculptures, illustrations, and graphic design offered visitors a glimpse into the thriving talent and perspectives of the university’s arts community.
The opening reception on April 8th welcomed guests to experience the artwork and support student artists. The free, public event spotlighted the importance of campus creative spaces and student voices in the arts.
After the reception, the gallery remains open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., inviting continued exploration by students and visitors eager to experience the exhibition.
The annual juried show continues to shine as a platform for emerging artists at UDC, celebrating the depth of creativity flourishing across the university’s art and design programs.
